16 January, 2010 Melbourne-restaurants We were in Melbourne this week. We decided to check on a couple of 'our favourite haunts', to make sure they still qualify for the page. We ate at MOO- (The Money Order Office), and had a drink at The Supper Club. No problem. They both are still right up there. 29 October, 2009 Do you like bohemian ? If you like boho as well as ritzy, check out Cookie Bar and Restaurant in Swanston St between Lt Bourke and Lonsdale. The sort of place you might find on Brunswick St, Fitzroy. It's located on the first floor, and above it, on the 3rd floor is the fabulous Metropolis bookshop, as well as some interesting trendy Japanese clothing. 27 July, 2009 Fabulous New Bar in Melbourne Silk Road, on the corner of Collins and William, less than 5 minutes walk from the apartment, has to be seen to be believed. It is probably the most salubrious establishment we have ever been in. It sounds incredible to hear that $25 million has been spent on this fit-out, but when you see it, you will understand this to be true. Some individual chandeliers (and there are many)cost 1.5 mill ! It consists of eight bars, with dedicated wine bar, champagne, Teppanyaki and Tapas area's. Don't wear denim or you will not be allowed in. Amazing ! 28 May, 2008 Red Spice Road restaurant Lovely Asian Cuisine in the laneway across from the apartment (McKillop St.) This fairly new restaurant has shared tables, bar, and great food.
